Contradictions

Different voices shout and whisper
I cannot hear a thing
A simple thread for a looping tether
I’m losing everything.

My eyes glow while my heart leaks
Another smile has failed
My mouth shuts but my hand speaks
A promised touch was nailed.

They proved me this and what they said
Love is truly blind
But thoughts are going on my head—
It sees but doesn’t mind.
